The new MMC Medical Building is officially open for business. You can now find Delaware Curative Physical Therapy and Rehabilitative Services, Generations Home Health Care, the Hope Clinic and Lifespan Medical Services in their new location at the rear of the MMC property.

Dr. Harsha Tankala, Lifespan Medical Services is now accepting primary care patients age 17 and older, as well as walkins. He is located on the second floor of the medical building and is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information, call 346-0100.

RSVP- Retired and Senior Volunteer Program opportunities for adults age 55 and older to serve the community in a variety of interest areas. You can give as many hours a week as your wish. RSVP provides free volunteer placement and supplemental accident and liability insurance. Each year volunteers are acknowledges at a special luncheon

SCSEP- Senior Community Service Employment Program is designed to provide participants with subsidized, temporary training so that they may gain the skills and experience needed to help them re-establish or develop their work skills and prepare them for permanent, unsubsidized employment. It is a “Training to Work” program training 20 hours per week at minimum wage. If you are age 55 or older, reside in Kent County, Delaware and meet certain low income requirements, you may qualify for the SCSEP program.

Daybreak Adult Day Care - Daybreak is a structured and supervised daytime program designed for frail and functionally impaired seniors age (60) and older. It's primary purposes are: enable older adults to remain in their home environment; provide respite to caregivers; and enhance the quality of life through social activity and medical supervision.

Caregiver Resource Center - MMC has a staffed CARE Delaware Resource Center. The Center is a community access point for information on a variety of caregiving issues. Support groups meet monthly (one daytime, one evening). Videos, books, pamphlets and other materials on caregiving are available to be checked out. The coordinator understands the challenges that caregivers face and can provide information, assistance and support. She can also help caregivers navigate the array of services avaiable and help find solutions to individualized concerns.

M.A.N.N.A.- Nutrition/Meals on Wheels - offers two basic services to the older adults of Kent County. Participants can enjoy noon meals five days a week (M-F) at any of six sites located throughout Kent County, including the Modern Maturity Center, or, if eligible, may have meals delivered to their homes. For those who are at least 60 years of age, there is a suggested donation of $2.50, but no one will be refused a meal for inability to pay. Those under 60 and guests will be charged a fee of $5.
