Caregiver Resource Center

The Modern Maturity Center has a staffed Caregiver Resource Center (CRC) and a Relative as Parent Resource Center. The center is a community access point for information on a variety of caregiver issues. The CRC is located on the second floor in the Medical Services Building at the back of the MMC parking lot. An elevator is available at the Pivot Physical Therapy entrance. The Caregiver Resource Center understands the challenges that caregivers face and can provide information, assistance and support.

CRC hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Flexiable appointments are available during the evenings and weekends.

A library of books and videos, as well as an assortment of pamphlets and brochures, about health problems, services, and other caregiver issues are available. Monthly trainings are offered to assist caregivers. Special programs and speakers are scheduled throughout the year. Information on respite is also available. Respite is a service that gives a break to the caregiver.

A small lending library of walkers, wheel chairs, commode chairs and a few other supplies are available for signing out. Call for more information.

Relative as Parent Resource Center (Grandparents etc.) Located in the Caregiver Resource Center. There are booklets and other information available to assist. Information is available about free respite (break time) for the caregiver at the meetup meetings or by calling our office.

Support Groups

You do not need to be a member of Modern Maturity to attend the support groups or use the Caregiver Resource Center.

Caregiver Support Groups meet following the trainings at noon on the first Monday of the month at 1 p.m. in the Caregiver Resource Center in the MMC Medical Services Building and following the trainings at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. These meetings are for anyone caring for an elder relative, friend, or neighbor. An elevator is available at the Pivot Physical therapy entrance.

The Parkinsons Support Group meets the first Thursday of the month at 5 p.m. in the Caregiver Resource Center Program room for anyone with Parkinson's and their caregiver if they have a caregiver.

Relative as Parent "Second Time Around" Support Group meets the second Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m. in the Caregiver Program Room on the second floor of the Medical Services Building at the rear of the parking lot. A group for grandparents or other blood relatives raising blood related children.

Caregiver Trainings with Videos and/or Speakers are provided prior to the Caregiver Support Group Meetings on the first Monday of the month at 12 Noon and the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. in The Caregiver Resource Center Program Room located in the Medical Building at the rear of the parking lot. An elevator is available at the Pivot Physical Therapy entrance.
